A New Beginning
In April our sitting groups currently meeting at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Long Beach and the Orange Coast Unitarian Universalist Church in Costa Mesa will consolidate as the Anaheim Zen Sangha, and will meet at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Anaheim.
This will allow us to substantially expand how we can support Zen practice.
Our last meeting at the Orange Coast UU Church in Costa Mesa will be March 25th, our last meeting at the UU Church of Long Beach will be March 26th. (We start at 7pm at those locations)
On Saturday, April 6th, we will begin at the UU Church in Anaheim, at 9am. This inaugural meeting will feature a leisurely introduction to Zen meditation and its practices. All are welcome.
At 10am our resident teacher, Reverend James Myoun Ford will give a talk, "Your Moment of Zen."
Both programs are free and open to all. Light refreshments will be provided.
On Tuesday evening, the 9th of April we will start our evening meditation program.
Schedule & Location
Our schedule will include regular zazen and liturgy on both Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings. We will also begin “First Saturday,” a program derived from the Hawaii Soto Zen Mission and the Unitarian Universalist church, featuring a dharma talk and discussion. We will also offer regular classes. And a monthly opportunity for extended Zen meditation practice.
